By the end you can explain how the World Wide Web differs from the internet, name the parts of a URL, and describe how the DNS finds the IP address for a domain name.
Saying "the internet" when you mean "the web" is like saying "the roads" when you mean "the shops". The internet is the road network: the cables, routers and rules that move data. The web is one set of shops you can drive to.
Where it breaks down: lots of other traffic uses the same roads (email, video calls, online games) without ever visiting a shop.
Internet
A global network of interconnected networks: the hardware (routers, cables, servers) and protocols (TCP/IP) that carry data between devices anywhere in the world.
World Wide Web (WWW)
A collection of web pages and other resources, linked by hyperlinks, stored on web servers and accessed over the internet using HTTP or HTTPS, usually through a web browser.
